Great Breakfast!
I was attracted to this place by its sign that
advertised a $3.95 breakfast and by the vivid pictures of their meals.
In addition, it was on my route back to Broward County in the vicinity
of Tamarac, Florida. It is also across from Miami-Dade
Community (formerly Junior) College which opened in 1960 --
my birth year. I was not aware at the time but I and my Lillie C. Evans Elementary
School classmates were among the first to take a course there shortly after
it opened for business. It was a gymnastics class that I found very
intimidating because it involved heights that I am not too particular about
although I am now a retired U.S. Army Paratrooper.
I would once again visit the college to participate in track meets for Miami Beach High School and AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) on the weekends. In addition, I would train there on my own and would always conclude with stair drills that I learned from the late great Nero Sweeting. May he R.I.P. (Rest in Peace). Lately I used the college to earn my Miami tour guide certification for Queen City Tourssm and Travel and I was quite impressed with how much the school had advanced in terms of technology and ethnic diversity.
Back to the matter at hand; this eatery has a very easy walk-up type configuration as well as covered tables for waiting and/or consuming your meal. My order taker was very friendly and my order was up in less than five minutes which is very quick. I ordered The Early Cuban which came with eggs with optional cheese, bacon, grits, and Cuban toast. My total came to just $4.25 (without tip) which I consider a great deal compared to most fast food restaurant chains like McDonald's and Burger King; who do not serve grits (my favorite side dish).
