On June 28, 2010, we launched Charlotte’s first virtual down-loadable commercial tour. The Daily City Tour is the first in a series of virtual tours that we will be rolling out in the next few months depending on the success of this product. The 3 hr. and 13 min. audio virtual tour includes over 142 sites and the input of folks from each State in the U.S. (Including Wyoming and South Dakota) and over 40 foreign countries.

It has been in the works for more than ten years and includes information from a 96-hour course on North Carolina History, and courses on American Literature, World History, and African-American Studies plus over 17 years of additional research. The down load has been in production since July of 2009 and has taken more than 70 hours to edit. Parts of the footage included in this down load were taken during an actual tour with paid guests.

Since 1993, we have conducted and/or directed over 4,100 local tours for nearly 100,000 guests – more than any other tour company in Charlotte history. “Now tourists can tour at their own leisure and pace and if they miss something they can just rewind the tour,” says Jay WhippleProducer/Editor/Narrator.

We hope that you and your guests enjoy this labor of love for history and that you find the need to laugh or smile at the corny jokes. Finally, this tour is independent and is in no way connected with or controlled by the City of Charlotte or any other governmental agency.

The material contained in this tour is for entertainment purposes only and is protected under the first amendment of the United States Constitution.
