House of Pizza/Charlotte, NC
Consistently Great!
By Jay Whipple/Trend Magazine Online™
I have been thoroughly enjoying this eatery for over two decades because they are consistently good at what they do. The restaurant is located on the east side of Charlotte where I have lived and worked for many years. In fact, the Queen City Tours and Travel office is located just around the corner off Eastway Drive which makes it convenient to stop by for lunch and/or dinner. I typically order my usual take out of baked lasagna with garlic bread and a side salad. On this occasion, however, I decided to mix it up a bit and order the baked ziti meal with sweet tea and a side salad. The total came to $10.58 with taxes.
My order was up in less than 10 minutes and the server was as usual very friendly. The baked ziti was tender and tasty and what I have come to expect from past experiences. Dining at this eatery is similar to having a traditional home-cooked Italian meal prepared by any one of the cast members of the Sopranos minus the gun play. The side salad always consists of garden fresh salad, tomatoes, and red onions which are my favorite. The garlic bread is good enough to eat as a separate meal but compliments the pasta in a most enjoyable way.
With the advent of chain restaurants virtually taking over the Queen City, it is nice to know that this staple has survived to continue to serve consistently great Italian meals at a reasonable price. So if you are in the area and have a taste for great traditional Italian cuisine, stop by. Eat in or order a take out -- Mama Mia, you will love it!
The House of Pizza is located at 3640 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC, 28205. Their phone number is 704-568-9410 and you can access their menu at yellowpages.com. Tell them that Trend Magazine Online™ sent you!
