After experiencing a relatively smooth flight from Miami,
Florida, to Charlotte, North Carolina, my expectations of
the second leg of my flight to Greensboro, North Carolina were
pretty high. I was assigned a boarding time of 9:20 A.M., a take-off
time 9:50 A.M., and an arrival time of 10:41 A.M. (EST). This
flight was operated by US Airways. I arrived to the boarding area at
approximately 8:40 A.M. -- 40 minutes before boarding time. The
area was clean and carpet very clean as compared to the Miami International
Airport. In addition, the AC (Electrical) sockets did work; and
there were many passengers waiting to board.
Our boarding began at 9:25 A.M.; just 5 minutes past the advertised time. We had to walk out on the tarmac to this much smaller plane into freezing single-digit temperatures on this late February day. My body is not cold weather friendly so I had to bundle up from head to toe to include a toboggan, long johns, and ski gloves. This express commuter plane was a Canada CL-65 model that is manufactured by Bombardier Aerospace whose first flight was in 1991. There was not that much room around us passengers to do much of anything but inhale until our flight was over. The area around me was clean in this older model aircraft.
