Pricey But Worth It!
After a long day attending the IBTF (International Black Theatre Festival)/NBTF (National Black Theatre Festival) in Winston-Salem, I decided to stop in at Giovanni′s Pizza & Pasta 🍝 in Concord, NC, around 6:15 p.m. This visit marked my first in-store dining experience after having ordered several times via DoorDash 🚗. Conveniently located in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking 🅿️, Giovanni’s offers both takeout and dine-in service. The medium-sized dining area featured comfortable booths and tables 🪑, a contemporary design, and spotless surroundings ✨. A TV was mounted but turned off, while top 40 music 🎶 played softly in the background. With a 98 sanitation rating ✅ and a men’s restroom that was equally clean 🚻, the place set a positive first impression right away.
From the moment I walked in, I was acknowledged immediately by a friendly counter person 😊 despite how busy the takeout orders were. Only one party was dining inside, and I placed my order for my usual favorites: 10-piece baked buffalo wings with garlic parmesan, blue cheese, and extra celery 🥬, along with Giovanni′s famous Family Stromboli 🥖 brushed with garlic butter and paired with blue cheese dressing. The total came to $35.82 (before tax) 💵, and though they quoted 20 minutes, my order was ready in just 15 ⏱️—impressive considering the steady flow of customers.
I was hungry and could not resist digging in right away 🤤. Giovanni′s baked garlic parmesan buffalo wings were once again a masterpiece. Cooked to perfection 🔥, they were tender inside, not greasy, and seasoned just right. The garlic parmesan glaze was flavorful without overpowering the wings, and the side of blue cheese dressing tasted homemade 🧀—creamy, slightly tangy, and with just the right consistency. The celery sticks were fresh, crispy, and ice-cold ❄️, exactly how I prefer them. But the star of the evening ⭐ was without question the Family Stromboli. The bread was soft yet firm, flavorful on its own, and baked golden brown 🍞. Inside was a perfect blend of savory ham and sausage 🐖, sautéed onions and bell peppers 🫑, and melted cheese 🧀 that tied everything together. Their homemade garlic dipping sauce 🧄 elevated the dish even further, turning each bite into what I can only describe as one of the finest Italian dining experiences in the Charlotte metro area 🍽️—and perhaps even rivaling Miami-Dade County 🇺🇸.
Giovanni′s Pizza & Pasta has proven to me time and again why it is a standout Italian eatery in Concord. The food quality, friendly service, and fast preparation make it a place I eagerly look forward to revisiting 🔄. Even as I finished this meal, I was already thinking about my next trip back. Giovanni′s, in my opinion, offers some of the best Italian cuisine around—a gem 💎 in the Queen City region that deserves every bit of recognition.
