I arrived at the Best Western Plus Richmond Hill Inn/Savannah, GA on Thursday at approximately 5:40 PM, just as the sun was setting. The property was easy to locate and offered adequate parking, with a well-maintained, attractive exterior that immediately gave the impression of a newer hotel. Upon entering the lobby, I was acknowledged immediately by a very friendly, cordial, and helpful front desk clerk, who proactively mentioned breakfast details during check-in. The lobby was super clean, floors spotless, and luggage dollies were conveniently located near the front desk—always a plus when traveling solo with gear. I was assigned a third-floor room, and my key worked on the first try. The room itself was nearly immaculate, well-organized, and thoughtfully laid out.

A footstool near the chair proved useful, and the side table was a big plus, especially for eating and working—something not always well considered in standard hotel rooms. Electrical outlets and USB ports were located near the bed, though the USB ports unfortunately did not function. The TV remote was simple and user-friendly, and a printed channel list was provided. While there were no premium movie channels or MeTV, the basics were sufficient for a short stay. The in-room microwave featured old-school analog dials, which was a unique and slightly nostalgic touch. The refrigerator was larger than expected, another welcome surprise. The bathroom was clean, though there was a minor repair visible on the shower wall. Interestingly, the front desk clerk shared that while the property looks fairly new, it is actually around 20 years old—a testament to consistent upkeep. An ice machine and trash receptacle were located just outside my third-floor room, making things especially convenient.

Wi-Fi access was easy and hassle-free, requiring no password, and connected quickly on the first attempt. The alarm clock/radio was located on the door-side of the bed, easy to reach. The hotel is entirely non-smoking, with a designated smoking area on the back patio near the main lobby. Additional amenities included a gym and a business center, both positives for business and leisure travelers alike. Breakfast the following morning was a pleasant experience. A friendly attendant kept the area tidy and welcoming. Offerings included fresh fruit, strawberry jam, oatmeal, fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon, wheat toast, and a juice machine with apple juice, which was just okay. The dining area was on the smaller side, but manageable. One small oversight was the absence of a “Do Not Disturb” door placard, something frequent travelers tend to notice.

At checkout, the clerk was polite; however, I was refused a printed receipt upon request, which was disappointing and the only notable service issue during my stay. Despite that, the overall experience—from cleanliness and comfort to staff friendliness and functional amenities—was excellent.
Overall Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5-Star Stay)
