-- Mooresville businesses experience sales boost from filming of "Homeland" series
The filming of scenes in Mooresville recently for a new Showtime TV series gave a boost to local businesses, and especially to a couple of antiques stores where film crews shopped for props. Some areas of Mooresville are depicted as a Mexican town in the series. Airing at 10 p.m. Sundays on Showtime, "Homeland" is a psychological thriller starring Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, Mandy Patinkin and Morena Baccarin.
The N.C. Film Office, along with the Charlotte Regional Film Commission, diligently worked to bring “Homeland” to North Carolina. The series will have an estimated $27 million direct spend in the region and create over 150 crew jobs, 110 talent jobs and over 3500 extras.
