On
August 20, 1998, the
Interfaith Pilgrimage πΆββοΈπΆββοΈ made a significant stop through
Charlotte as part of their profound journey from
Boston to
West Africa. The
Pilgrims retraced the
Middle Passage slave trade routes π, praying for racial healing ποΈ and atonement for the past institution of
Slavery in the
United States,
South America, and
Europe. While in
Charlotte, they experienced a customized
Black Heritage Toursm of
Charlotte and
Mecklenburg County. The tour included visits to a former
Slave church ποΈ and three existing
Slave cemeteries β°οΈ.
Each year,
Queen City Tours® and Travel invites you to experience the re-creation of this special
Charlotte Black Heritage Toursm and Pilgrimage during the months of
February - Black History Month π
, and June
- Juneteenth π for individual public tours.
